Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Conduct Drug Raid

Eight suspects were arrested on drug and child abuse charges after two homes in Iredell County were raided on Friday, August 8th by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Multiple complaints and tips from citizens led officers to 222 Hidden Lakes Road and 1719 Wedgedale Avenue.

Deontaye Jerome Smith

One man remains at large. Deontaye Jerome Smith, 18, of Statesville is wanted for charges of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance and felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale or use of a controlled substance.

According to a press release, investigators made undercover purchases of illegal drugs at both residences. Seven adults, one juvenile and two infants were at the Hidden Lakes Road home at the time of the raid. All seven adults were arrested. The children were taken by Iredell County Department of Social Services . Some 21 grams of methamphetamine, 35 pills of Subutex and with various items of drug paraphernalia were found. Drug-related items were found in the rooms used by the children, the sheriff’s office said.

The second search at the Wedgedale Avenue residence uncovered to a large amount of marijuana, four firearms and drug paraphernalia. One person was arrested at that location.

The following suspects were arrested

Eric Shawn Campbell, 41, of Statesville, is charged with felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of use of a controlled substance and misdemeanor child abuse.

John Daniel Oxendine, 51, of Statesville, is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of use of a controlled substance and misdemeanor child abuse.

Melissa Deann Loftin, 53, of Statesville, is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of use of a controlled substance and misdemeanor child abuse.

Bridget Kathleen Carrigan, 37, of Statesville, is charged with felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of use of a controlled substance and misdemeanor child abuse.

Travis David Reed, 28, of Statesville is charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor child abuse.

Brenda Daniell Oxendine, 33, of Statesville, is charged with misdemeanor child abuse.

Ritchie Ponce Granado, 44, of Claremont, is charged with misdemeanor child abuse.

Amanda Karol Fruia, 38, is charged with felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale or use of a controlled substance.
