Bobby Lee Collins
On Friday, May 16, at 8:13 am, a call was received by Iredell County Emergency Communication The call was from a subject identified as 70-yeaar-old Bobby Lee Collins of Harmony. Collins said he had shot his wife around 7:00 a.m. at his home on Harmony Highway. He indicated he had left the residence and was currently at the intersection of Powell Bridge Road and Harmony Highway.
Within minutes, Iredell Deputies located the suspect vehicle and took Collins into custody. Additional Iredell County Patrol Deputies responded to the home, where they located a female inside the dwelling. The victim, identified as Iona Collins, was pronounced deceased by members of Iredell County EMS.
Bobby Lee Collins is charged with murder and being held without bond.
