Iredell County Couple Admit Leaving Cocaine Accessible To Children

October 13, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

On Thursday, September 25, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit received a report of possible child abuse involving three children, ranging in age from one to nine years old.

Kyle Robert Crill

The case was assigned to Detective R. Olson, who began working closely with the Iredell County Department of Social Services (DSS). Based on the nature of the allegations, DSS conducted drug testing on the children and their parents, identified as Kyle Robert Crill, 36, and Lora Lee Estes, 30. Toxicology results confirmed that Crill and Estes both tested positive for cocaine and marijuana. All three children also tested positive for cocaine exposure.

Both Crill and Estes admitted to using cocaine and acknowledged leaving the drug accessible inside the home, within reach of the children.

Lora Lee Estes

Kyle Crill and Lora Estes were each charged with three counts of Felony Child Abuse. They were arrested and detained under a $350,000 secured bond.
