STATESVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close part of an Iredell County road for bridge maintenance this month.
Crews will perform maintenance on the bridge on Island Ford Road over Buffalo Shoals Creek beginning Monday, May 8th. Island Ford Road will close near the bridge for approximately three weeks during the operation, with the road anticipated to reopen in late June.
Drivers can follow a signed detour around the closure by taking Sharon School Road to New Sterling Road then Cotton Gin Road to Island Ford Road.
Motorists should avoid distractions, remain alert and obey all posted signs.
