MOORESVILLE – On Tuesday, November 21, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Iredell County on Linwood Road near Patterson Farm Road. A 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling east Linwood Road, ran off the road to the right, and collided with a tree.
The driver of the Hyundai, Michael Angelo Fusaro, 42, of Mooresville, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates excessive speed to be the contributing circumstance in the collision. During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was partially closed in the area for approximately two hours.
