The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says human remains were found behind a home in Statesville on Wednesday night.
Around 6:30 p.m., a call was received about a dead body found behind a home off Newton Drive.
Officials said that someone who was interested in the home came to inspect the property and when they reached the back yard, they found the human remains.
An investigator indicates the remains have “been there for a while.”
