Hickory, N.C.– The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team dominated Emory & Henry on Wednesday, winning by scores of 12-2 and 18-5 in two five-inning affairs. It was a milestone day for Head Coach Shena Hollar, as she earned her 1000th career Lenoir-Rhyne victory in game two. Hollar is an Alexander County native and a member of the Alexander County Sports Hall of Fame. She won 45 games in two years at Newberry prior to her stint at LRU.
Coach Hollar now sits at 1,045 career victories and ranks fifth among active DII coaches in total wins. Her .713 career winning percentage ranks her second among those five active coaches with 1,000 wins. She ranks 11th all-time in total DII wins.
