STATESVILLE- On Wednesday, April 29th at approximately 08:38 a.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision on I-77 near the 61-mile marker, in Iredell County. A 2015 GMC Yukon was traveling North on I-77, then drove off the roadway to the right and collided with several trees.
The driver of the GMC, Nicky Cherie Farrow, 30, of Lenoir, succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the collision.
The initial investigation does not suspect speed or impairment to be contributing factors in the collision.
