The North Carolina Highway Patrol arrested Duane Eric Carpenter, age 48 of Hiddenite, on Sunday. He’s charged with hit and run leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. Carpenter has been released under a bond of $2,500. A court date has been scheduled for September 22nd.
