Hiddenite Woman Jailed In Catawba County

A Hiddenite woman is facing felony charges following an investigation by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. 50-year-old Peggy Lee Mabe, of C & M Drive, Hiddenite, was arrested Tuesday August 11th.

Mabe is charged with injuring utility wires or fixtures, obtaining property by false pretense, and attempting to obtain property by false pretense. The injuring utility wires or fixtures charge carries a $75,000 secured bond, while the obtaining property by false pretense charge carries a $25,000 secured bond.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in Catawba County District Court today.
