A Hiddenite woman was arrested overnight by the Town of Catawba Police Department. Chasity Cothran Gwaltney, age 37 was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gwaltney was placed in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $5,000. She is scheduled for a court appearance on Monday, January 28th in Newton.
