A Hiddenite man is in Iredell County custody. Alexander James Welborn, 34, was taken into custody on October 17th by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon. As of earlier today, Welborn remains in the Iredell Detention Center with bond listed at $5,000. The next court date in Statesville is November 5th.
