On Saturday, March 28, at approximately 6:30 PM, Officers from the Taylorsville Police Department responded to a reported larceny at the local Walmart store on NC Highway 16 South.
A Deputy with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office located and conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, with Taylorsville Police Officers arriving shortly thereafter. During a search of the vehicle and its occupants, Officers located methamphetamine in the driver’s purse and in the passengers pocket. Both individuals were transported to the Alexander County Detention Center.
During a more thorough search at the detention center, additional methamphetamine and crack cocaine were located concealed within the passenger’s clothing.

Perry also had two outstanding warrants from Iredell County, including charges for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Firing into an Occupied Dwelling, Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances, Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale of Narcotics (two counts), and Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana. He was out on bond at the time of arrest and is also being held without bond under the Pre-Trial Integrity Act.
