The Alexander County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC), in partnership with the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center, hosted a Hiddenite Community Vision Forum on Thursday, August 15th at the Hiddenite Arts’ Educational Complex. The purpose of the forum was to create a shared vision for the future of Hiddenite.
Twenty-eight (28) people attended the event, with representation from county elected officials and staff, business and property owners, and citizens. The evening activities were facilitated by Connie Kincaid, ACEDC Business Development Manager.
Participants divided into five tables to begin discussion of Hiddenite’s strengths, assets, and economic drivers. Each table wrote a statement of their vision for Hiddenite in the next five years during the final activity of the evening. A representative from each table then presented their ideas to the entire group.
Input provided at the forum will be analyzed and prioritized in the coming months. An economic strategic plan based on community contributions will be developed for incremental implementation.
The Alexander County EDC and Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center would like to express their appreciation to Duke Energy for sponsoring the vision forum.
