A woman from Hickory is facing charges after McDowell County authorities say she led them on a chase on Sunday, August 11th.
Revonda Nicole Mathis, age 23, is charged with fleeing to elude arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle, driving while license revoked, failure to maintain lane control, speeding, reckless driving to endanger and possession of drug paraphernalia. A McDowell County Deputy spotted Mathis operating a stolen vehicle near Old Fort. Mathis is reported to have sped away from the officer when he attempted to stop her.
Mathis was taken into custody a short time later after being spotted at a gas station in Old Fort. Mathis is being held in the McDowell County Detention Center under a secured bond of $35,000.
