Hickory Police say they’ve arrested a man who attempted to burn a Hickory motel. Andy Dewayne Winker, age 58, is facing seven counts of felony first-degree arson. He is being held without bond after attempting to set fire to the Days Inn located in Hickory. The incident was reported on Christmas Day.
