A man died in a crash in Alexander County on Tuesday.
The accident was reported in the Bethlehem Community around 5:25 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 127 and Rink Dam Road.
A motorcycle, driven by 39-yer old Brandon Scott Smith of Hickory was traveling north on Highway 127 according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Smith’s motorcycle was struck with a pickup truck that was traveling south and attempting to turn left onto Rink Dam Road. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the pickup truck was not injured. Charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the pickup after consultation with the District Attorney’s office.
