Hickory Man Jailed This Morning

A Hickory man is in custody after an overnight incident.

Tyrone Javelle Bowens, age 53, was arrested this morning by Hickory Police. He faces a number of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill charges, discharging a firearm to incite fear, discharging a firearm in the city, injury to personal property and possession of a firearm by a felon. Bowens is being held in the Catawba County Jail without bond. A first court appearance is scheduled for today in Newton.
