A Hickory man was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center on Monday after being served with arrest warrants for failing to appear on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 31-year old Shawn Douglas Smith is being held under a secured bond of $10,000. The original charges date back to 2021.
