38-year-old Kurtis James Yearwood of U.S. 70 in Hickory was arrested Wednesday by Catawba County Sheriff’s Deputies. He’s charged with felony failure to register as a sex offender. Yearwood is a sex offender as a result of a conviction in Caldwell County in 2010 for indecent liberties with a minor. The offenses occurred in 2009 according to online records. Following Wednesday’s arrest, Yearwood was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $4,500 bond. A District Court date was scheduled today.
