Hickory Man Facing Child-Sex Charges In Alexander County

A Hickory man is facing as series of child-sex related charges in Alexander County.

On Friday, March 10th, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrested 57-year old Jimmy Darin Starr and charged him with felony first-degree statutory sex offense with a child and multiple counts of felony indecent liberties with a child. Starr is on the NC Sex-Offender Registry after a Catawba County conviction in 1993 for felony indecent liberties with a minor. The suspect is being held under a $550,000 secured bond in the Alexander County Detention Center with an initial court appearance set for Monday.
