Hickory Man Facing Charges After Arrest In Alexander County

Alexander County Probation and Parole Officers along with Deputies from Alexander County arrested a Hickory man on Thursday and charged him with felony drug offenses.

42-year old Austin Rusty Setzer is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling or place for controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond.

Previous charges are pending against Setzer in Alexander County that include possession of a firearm by a felon and assault with a deadly weapon.

Austin is awaiting trial in Caldwell County for felony first-degree arson, felony breaking and entering and felony probation violation.
