Hickory Man Detained In Alexander County

A Hickory man is being held in Alexander County custody on a series of charges. Geovanny Jesus Acosta, age 32 was arrested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on March 21st for assault on a female. He was initially held without bond. Following a court appearance in Taylorsville, his bond was set at $100,000.

Acosta now has a series of charges added from Catawba County that include possession of a weapon by a felon, felony and misdemeanor probation violations and resisting arrest. Acosta remains in the Alexander County Jail with a total bond of $210,000. He is scheduled for court in Alexander County on April 8th. Superior and District Court dates in Catawba County are listed for April 8th and April 23rd.
