Hickory Man Charged With Sexual Exploitation Of Minor

An internet crime tip has resulted in the arrest of a Catawba County man on multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a minor. Investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip referencing suspicious online activity potentially involving child exploitation. An investigation led to the identification and arrest of Douglas Christopher Keith Maw, 30, of Hickory.

Maw has been charged with ten (10) counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He is currently held in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $200,000 secured bond. Maw has a court appearance scheduled for today in Newton.
