Hickory Man Charged With Rape Of Child

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Hickory man with a list of child-sex crimes including rape. The warrants are from Cleveland County.

On Monday, 30-year old Jonathan Paul Dyson was arrested and charged with multiple counts of the following:

Statutory rape a child by an adult
First -degree statutory sex offense
Indecent liberties with a child

Dyson is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a secured bond of $450,000. He is scheduled for a Shelby court appearance on Wednesday, August 31st.
