38-year-old Jamir Anthony Gates of Hickory was arrested Sunday by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with seven felony counts of identity theft. In addition, Gates is charged with possession of a stolen firearm, cyber stalking, domestic criminal trespass, communicating threats and resisting a public officer. Gates was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $24,000 bond. District Court dates were scheduled today and Tuesday.
