Hickory Man Charged With Attempted Murder

45-year-old Christopher Randy Rutledge of Hickory was arrested Monday by Conover Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Rutledge was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $750,000 bond. He was scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Tuesday in Newton.
