Hickory Man Charged With Assaulting Pregnant Female

23-year-old Dylan Shane Lunsford of Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police early Saturday morning on one felony count of assault inflicting serious injury including strangulation and misdemeanor counts of battery on an unborn child and assault on a female.

Lunsford was taken into custody without incident at 5:10 a.m. Saturday at his residence. Following his arrest, Lunsford was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where he was initially held without bond. Bond has since been set at $20,000. Lunsford remained in jail as of earlier today . A first appearance in District Court was scheduled this past Monday (February 12) in Newton with another court date coming up on March 4.
