Hickory Man Arrested For Felony Indecent Liberties With A Child

36-year-old Eddie Wayne Lane Jr of Hickory was arrested Friday, December 1 by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged on a warrant from Caldwell County with felony indecent liberties with child.

Lane was arrested at his residence on South Fork Avenue in Hickory. He was initially brought to the Burke County Jail. He has since been transferred to authorities in Caldwell County and was jailed in the Caldwell County Detention Center in Lenoir.

Lane is listed on the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. He’s on the registry as a result of a federal conviction for knowingly possessing, receiving, and distributing visual depictions which involved the use of a minor. Lane was convicted in April, 2014 and the offense date is November 7, 2012. He received a 90 month prison sentence and was released in July, 2019.

Lane is registered as a sex offender with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office. He remained in the Caldwell County Detention Center as of earlier today (December 5) under $100,000 secured bond. A District Court date is scheduled for December 14.
