Hickory Business Owner Facing Felony Charges

A Hickory business owner has been arrested.

Marty Christopher McDaniel, age 63 of Hickory, is charged with two counts of conspiracy and one count of obtaining property by false pretense according to a report in the Hickory Daily Record. McDaniel is the owner of the Gold King, a business that touts paying cash for precious metals and diamonds.

McDaniel remains in the Catawba County Detention Center with a bond listed at $500,000.
