36-year-old David Walter Zantop of Granite Falls was arrested Tuesday, December 5th by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputies. He was charged with one felony count of statutory rape of a child 15 years old or younger. Zantop was jailed in the Caldwell County Detention Facility under no bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled in Lenoir on Wednesday.
