Granite Falls Man Arrested After Alexander County Traffic Stop

Dennis Lynn Sharpe, 57 of Granite Falls, was arrested on Tuesday in Alexander County following a traffic stop by the NC Highway Patrol. The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene due to the suspicion that Sharpe was in possession of illegal drugs. Deputies charged the suspect with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He’s being held in the Alexander County Jail with bond set at $11,000. The initial court date is scheduled for Monday, September 30th.

Sharpe has previous charges pending in Alexander County for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and possession of schedule IV controlled substance. November 4th is listed as a court date in Taylorsville on the previous charges.
