Cam Gant
Gant served as Head Men’s Basketball Coach for two seasons and compiled an overall record of 24-28 and a conference record of 9-11. Gant had been part of the basketball coaching staff for the past 10 seasons.
After announcing his resignation, Gant commented “I am grateful that I was given the chance to serve as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the past two seasons and to be part of the coaching staff and school staff for the past 10 years. I would like to thank Ed Wills (Assistant Principal and former Head Coach) for his guidance and mentorship that he has given me from the time I played for him to being able to coach under him. I would also like to thank Principal Jacob Lail and the athletic administration for their leadership.”
Coach Gant continued by saying “I thank the young men in our program for their dedication to the team and the game of basketball. I care about each of these young men and look forward to continuing to cheer them on from the stands.”
ACHS Athletic Director Nathan Robinson shared his thoughts by saying “I can’t thank Coach Gant enough for the leadership he provided for the young men in our basketball program. Cam loves the game of basketball as well as his players and that is so evident in the way he coached and the passion he showed. It takes a special person to Coach basketball here at ACHS and have the team be successful and competitive and Coach Gant was able to do that. We will miss him and we wish him the best in his future.”
ACHS Principal Jacob Lail commented on Gant’s resignation by saying “We sincerely thank Coach Gant for his dedication and contributions to our basketball program throughout his tenure as both an assistant and head coach. His commitment to our athletes and school community has been greatly appreciated, and we wish him the best in his next chapter.”
