Four Alexander County Citizens Hospitalized With COVID-19 Associated Symptoms

August 24, 2022 By Richard C. Gilbert

The Alexander County Health Department is pleased to report that we have not had an increase in deaths from Covid-19 since our previous update; however, we have had an increase in hospitalizations.

Like some areas of North Carolina, CDC considers Alexander County to be a medium transmission area for Covid-19 at this time.  Please remember to wash your hands frequently; get tested if you develop symptoms or are a close contact of someone who has developed symptoms; stay home for at least 5 days and wear a mask around others for 10 days if you test positive; wear a well-fitting mask indoors when transmission rates are high; and get/stay up-to-date on your eligible Covid-19 vaccination doses in order to help reduce the spread.  Learn more about CDC recommendations for our area transmission level at https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view?list_select_state=North+Carolina&data-type=CommunityLevels&null=CommunityLevels&list_select_county=37003.
