Former Lake Norman Softball Coach Facing More Charges

59-year-old Thomas Patrick Strahan of Cornelius has been charged with six counts of felony indecent liberties with a student.

Strahan was initially arrested in May of 2022. At that time, he was charged with one count of felony indecent liberties with a student. Strahan was a softball coach at Lake Norman High School in Mooresville.

During an investigation conducted by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, other victims were identified and interviewed. As a result it was determined that Strahan committed crimes with additional juvenile athletes.

Strahan was arrested in Mecklenburg County on the latest charges on Wednesday, March 1.

He was detained in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond. Strahan will appear in District Court Monday March.
