
Elizabeth Suzanne Bailey
37-year-old Elizabeth Suzanne Bailey of Statesville has been arrested by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and charged with violating a pretrial release order.
Bailey was initially arrested on August 1, 2022 and charged with felony counts of statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger, indecent liberties with a child, and sex offense with a student. Following that arrest, she was required to wear an ankle monitor. A week later, she was charged with felony statutory sex offense with a child under the age of 15 and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
On September 2, 2022, Bailey was arrested again and charged with nine counts of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor and nine counts of felony intimidating or interfering with a state’s witness, along with a misdemeanor violation of pretrial release conditions.
The most recent arrest took place on Saturday, May 13th when Deputies responded to a traffic accident on Mocksville Highway. Deputies were told that three individuals were in the car. Two were juveniles who had fled the scene.
Deputies located the two juveniles and transported them back to the accident location. The adult passenger in the vehicle was identified as Elizabeth Suzanne Bailey. Bailey admitted she had been drinking at the time of the accident.
Later in the day, an Officer determined that the juvenile who was driving the vehicle had an outstanding Juvenile Secure Custody Order issued by the North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. Deputies found the juvenile at his residence and took him into custody. The juvenile was transported to the Alexander County Juvenile Detention Center. Officers went to Bailey’s residence and took her into custody. She was under court order to stay away from one of the juveniles in the vehicle.
Bailey was jailed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond. The North Carolina Highway Patrol also cited Bailey for misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a misdemeanor allowing an unlicensed driver to drive. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow. Bailey appeared in Iredell County District Court today. During the appearance, bond was reduced to $50,000.
