Sugar Loaf, Vashti and Central Alexander Fire Departments got an early wake-up call on Tuesday.
Around 1 am, units were called to 2478, Highway 16 north. When the first firefighters arrived, a portion of a poultry house was engulfed with flames. The fire destroyed a section of the structure before being brought under control.
The location had recently been cleaned so no birds were lost.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
