A Wilkes County woman died and another woman was seriously injured in a crash on North Carolina Highway 18 last week. The accident was reported around 9:15 am on Thursday, May 5th.
95-year old Iva Billings Johnson of North Wilkesboro, was driving a Toyota Camry south on N.C. 18 and tried to turn left when her car was struck by a northbound vehicle. Johnson died at the scene.
A 23-year old woman from Wilkes County was driving the other vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
No charges have been filed.
