Eckard Named New Public Information Organizer For Alexander County Schools

Alexander County Schools welcomes Meggan Eckard to our district as PIO while she continues to support ESL students at the high school. With more than fifteen years of experience in education, Mrs. Eckard is a dedicated educator and instructional leader who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Gardner-Webb University (2011) and a Master’s degree in School Administration from Appalachian State University (2025). Her experience includes teaching Grades 2–4, serving K–12 English as a Second Language (ESL) students, and two and a half years in school administration.

As Mrs. Eckard begins a new role as Public Information Organizer, she looks forward to connecting with students, families, staff, and the community through clear, transparent, and meaningful communication. She views this opportunity as an extension of her commitment to supporting public education and strengthening relationships across the school community. With a passion for service, collaboration, and lifelong learning, she is excited to help share the stories, successes, and impact of the district while continuing to advocate for student achievement.
