Ten to 15 acres of pasture land was charred by a fire Saturday afternoon in Eastern Alexander County.
According to NC Forest Service Ranger David Huffman, the fire was near Doc Connolly Lane.
The region is in stage 1 drought status and the humidity was low causing the fire to spread quickly.
The NC Forest Service, NC Forest Service Strike Team along with at least seven Fire Departments from Alexander and Iredell Counties responded.
Huffman says citizens should use extreme caution when burning.
