On Monday, March 9, Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team were conducting a motor vehicle checkpoint at the intersection of River Hill Road and Wooten Farm Road.
During the checkpoint, 53-year-old Dwayne Edward Stanley of Hamptonville, approached and provided an identification card after advising that his driver’s license was revoked.
While speaking with Stanley, Deputy W. Wiedenmann observed behavior that raised concern. A brief investigation was conducted, and deputies proceeded with a search of the vehicle.
During the search, deputies located three small plastic bags containing crystal methamphetamine along with a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine.
Stanley was placed under arrest and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he appeared before Magistrate Watkins. He received no bond on charges of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The suspect already has felony drug charges pending from February and additional charges from 2025.
