Doctor Listed In Residency At Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Facing Child-Porn Related Charges In Alexander County

A doctor of Cytopathology and listed in Residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem was arrested by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, April 4.

Richard Dean Jordan, age 31, lists a Hickory address but lives in the Bethlehem Community. He’s charged with 4 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The charges are related to the downloading of child pornography according to Sheriff Chad Pennell.

Jordan remains in custody with a $1.55 million secured bond. He’s scheduled to appear in Alexander County District Court today in Taylorsville.

According to the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center website, Jordan has been on staff since 2024.

Phone calls and emails to obtain comments from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center were not returned as of this report.
