Crash Claims Life Of Salisbury Man In Iredell County

A Salisbury man was killed Thursday evening as the result of an Iredell County accident.

At 7:15 pm, the NC State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal collision on US 70 near Triplett Road. A 2018 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of US 70, ran off the road to the left into a wooded area, and collided with a tree.  The vehicle became involved in a post-crash fire.

The driver, Shaun Michael Pace, 33, of Salisbury, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  There were no other passengers.  The contributing circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
