COVID-19 Associated Death Reported In Alexander County

October 31, 2022 By Richard C. Gilbert

The 153rd death associated with COVID-19 was reported on Friday, October 28 by the Alexander County Health Department. As of noon on Friday, 4 county citizens were hospitalized with COVID associated symptoms.

Like some areas of North Carolina, CDC considers Alexander County to be a low transmission area for Covid-19 at this time. Please remember to wash your hands frequently; get tested if you develop symptoms or are a close contact of someone who has developed symptoms; stay home for at least 5 days and wear a mask around others for 10 days if you test positive; wear a well-fitting mask indoors when transmission rates are high; and get/stay up-to-date on your eligible Covid-19 vaccination doses in order to help continue reducing the virus’ spread. Learn more about CDC recommendations for our area transmission level at https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view?list_select_state=North+Carolina&data-type=CommunityLevels&null=CommunityLevels&list_select_county=37003.
Alexander County Public Health is pleased to provide Covid-19 vaccinations for our citizens. To register for a vaccine appointment at our office, visit https://alexandercountync.gov/covid/ or call 828-632-9704.
