Couple Arrested With Fentanyl And Meth During Catawba County Traffic Stop

As the result of a Catawba County traffic stop on April 5th, and man and woman are facing felony drug charges.

Fentanyl, meth and cash were seized following a traffic stop in Sherrills Ford by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office.

34-year old Roy Lee Blue of Catawba is charged with two counts of trafficking in opium, two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle for the purposes of transporting controlled substances, failure to stop for blue lights and siren, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was detained in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $400,000.

27-year old Nichole Leigh McAlpine of Vale is charged with two counts of trafficking in opium, felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed with a bond of $150,000.

During the stop, Deputies seized 35 grams of fentanyl, 5 ounces of methamphetamine and $1,047 in cash according to a press release.
