The mystery surrounding the status of Alexander County Manager Todd Herms continues to be the subject of lots of conversations, lots of speculation and no shortage of rumors.
As reported on Wednesday, Herms has not been in his office this week. He was not in attendance Monday evening at the County Commissioners Meeting. Efforts to reach Mr Herms have not been successful. County Public Information Director Gary Herman said on Wednesday that he had been instructed to refer inquires to the County Attorney.
County Attorney Ben Faulkenberry said in a conversation, “ I cannot provide comment on a confidential personell issue pursuant to law.” When asked if Herms was still employed by the county, Faulkenberry said again he “could not comment.” County Commission Co-Chair Larry Yoder said on Wednesday he could not comment on the matter either.
