Morganton: The 2025 football season for Alexander Central hit a new low Friday night. The Cougars were destroyed by Freedom in a game that was a bigger rout than the final score implied.
The Patriots led 35-0 at the half and with a running clock, added another score in the third period.
For the Cougars, they never made it inside the Freedom 30 yard line and accumulated a feeble 46 yards on the night.
Freedom QB Kaden Davis was 12-15 passing for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns. Kobe Johnson was the target on all of the scoring passes, he had 147 yards receiving.
Freedom is 8-1 and will host McDowell next Friday while AC slides to 2-7 with the season finale set for Halloween in Taylorsville vrs South Caldwell.
