Cougars Bow Out Of Conference Tournament

Women

Watauga 75 Alexander Central 52

West Jefferson: Watauga cruised to a victory Tuesday afternoon and advanced to the Tournament Championship Game over Alexander Central.

Kate Sears led the Lady Pioneers with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Watauga trailed only once and led 49-23 at half. Meredith Wike had 29 points including 10 of 10 from the free throw line for Alexander Central. With the loss, AC falls to 15-11 while Watauga improves to 18-5.

Men

Watauga 71 Alexander Central 47

The top-seeded Pioneers routed the Cougars in a game they never trailed. Josiah Riley paced Watauga with 23. Jayon Connor was the top point producer for ACHS with 24. The Cougars fall to 12-13 while the Pioneers advance to the title game at 18-6.
