Hickory: Alexander Central struggled, putting it kindly, and St Stephens prospered from the Cougars less than stellar performance Friday night.
AC would manage only 167 yards on the night and commit three turnovers. St Stephens managed 251.
The Tribe was able to produce some big scoring plays including a hook and ladder scoring toss on the final play of the first half. Alexander Central was stuck in a slog that saw them malfunction the few times they threatened to score.
With the win, the Indians improve to 3-3 and 1-0 in Northwestern Conference play. ACHS falls to 1-5 and 0-1.
