Hickory Police investigated a fatal traffic crash involving a pedestrian on Friday, December 1.
Around 7:30 p.m., Bobby Gene Helton, 53, of Conover was walking in the far right lane on Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard SE near 3rd Avenue SE,. A 2006 Pontiac G6, driven by Deven Antonio Milton, 45, of Greensboro, was traveling in the same lane and direction and struck Helton.
Catawba County EMS responded and Helton was taken to Frye Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries. The Hickory Fire Department also responded to the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
